Prakesh runs the nicest chaishop in the tiny village of Kapkote which is about 50 miles North of my house. I often stop off there for a drink before heading up to the mountains beyond to go walking. His father, who sadly died last year, was a regular feature sitting out in front on the road, smoking, drinking tea and gossiping with the other elders of the village. One man represented the older values of India and the other is attracted to a newer, more modern lifestyle. But side by side, the two seemed almost identical.
