I drew this batik from a postcard that I picked up on a bike trip to Himachal Pradesh state. And its certainly true that the men in that part of India are very striking looking. The older men have continued to wear the traditional wool jackets, kurta shirts and tight fitting trousers. They have lean faces, hawk-like features and a far-away look in their eyes. Once seen, those lofty snowpeaks are never forgotten.
